I often travel between San Francisco and San Diego to visit family, and after many years of taking Highway 101, I started making extra stops to explore what the California coast has to offer. On this trip, I decided to take the scenic Highway 1 route, stopping in Monterey to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Cannery Row before continuing south to the spectacular Hearst Castle in San Simeon.
