I found out about the Museum studies program from another photographer. I thought it might be an interesting class as it talked about how museum and galleries work. We took many field trips to local museums, many I had not been to, and talked with different people. We talked with the guy behind the exhibits at the the Natural History museum, museum directors, and artists as well. This was a semester long class (two are actually given) that was held on Friday. Turns out that Mesa is pretty empty on Fridays as there are not many classes given on that day. We had several projects and papers we worked on as well as we hosted a show at Mesa's Art Gallery. We named the show, put out a call for entry, selected the works to show and then hung the art. I didn't take the second semester as things changed at work when we merged with another company, I didn't think it would be a good idea to not work a normal schedule.
