You can find a museum for just about anything these days! Alameda is home to a fantastic Pinball Museum where you're encouraged to touch and play every machine. With a single admission fee, you can play any machine for as long as you like. Personally, I think that removes some of the fun and challenge — when nothing's on the line, there's no pressure.
