Chinese New Year Parade, San Francisco, California - February 11, 2017
I had lived in the Bay Area for many years but had never made it to the Chinese New Year parade. This year I finally went, joining my friend Luke for several hours of shooting. I rode over on BART from Fremont and planned to leave before the parade ended to beat the post-parade crowd. We walked the entire route hunting for the perfect spot, but after exploring the whole thing we found ourselves back near the start — which turned out to be where we shot most of our best images.
