I was on PTO for the last few weeks of December, San Diego had just started requiring paid parking in Balboa Park, and my Zoo pass was expiring in a few days — plenty of reasons to make a visit! On top of that, I've recently started switching camera systems, moving from Canon (where I've been since 1974!) to the Olympus/OM system. I wanted to give the new camera a real workout before taking it to New Mexico in January. As you can see from the results, I think it's performing beautifully. My biggest question is whether I can make peace with the smaller sensor size — the main trade-off being fewer pixels to work with when cropping. The upside, though, is that the lenses are faster and lighter than their Canon equivalents, which means I should be able to bring the longer glass along more often rather than relying on heavy crops. I haven't let go of the Canon gear just yet, as I still have a few questions about some functions on the new OM-1 Mark II.
