Gillespie Airshow, El Cajon, California - June 5, 2011
Gillespie Field is just a few miles from where I live, and every year they put on a fantastic airshow with a great static display. A variety of aircraft fly demonstrations throughout the day, and they even offer rides in a B-17 Flying Fortress — a bucket-list experience for any aviation enthusiast! The real highlight for me this year was getting to see the Northrop N-9M, a one-third scale flying wing that served as a proof-of-concept for the legendary Northrop Northrop XB-35 and YB-35 flying wing long-range, heavy bomber. Seeing that swept silhouette in the air is something I won't forget.
